The Italian Sauce - The Inspiration behind the Signature Garden Collection


8 small tomatoes, diced

2 cloves of garlic, grated

1/4 cup chopped basil

1/4 cup of water

1 teaspoon of olive oil

1 tablespoon of butter

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

salt & pepper to taste

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ready in: 30 minutes

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook about 2 minutes or until softened. Add tomatoes and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes or until tomatoes are soft. Add basil, olive oil, salt & pepper, mix well. Slowly add the flour, continuing to mix. Stir in the water, mix well, making sure there are no flour lumps. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until sauce begins to thicken.
